Focus: The Electrical Engineer's primary focus are the electrical assets at the Plaquemine manufacturing site. In this role, you will work closely with Electrical Technicians, Run Plant Engineers, PPM Coordinators, Project Engineers, and the Tech Center Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Your key responsibilities include overseeing electrical equipment repairs, projects, troubleshooting, and developing and implementing maintenance strategies to ensure long-term reliability and performance of the equipment and infrastructure.

Electrical Engineer Essential Job Functions:

Serves as a technical resource related to electrical equipment maintenance, operations, troubleshooting, testing, design, and safety questions/issues/comments regarding electrical areas and equipment. Facilitates root cause investigations of electrical related equipment failures and drives implementation of corrective action plans to prevent reoccurring failures. Participates in development and improvement of Most Effective Technology (MET) in collaboration with the Tech Center Electrical SMEs and works with Capital Project and Maintenance Teams to ensure effective application of MET and electrical specifications to new equipment design, repair, fabrication, installation, and commissioning. Works with electrical equipment manufacturers, vendors, and contractors to ensure quality products and repairs to electrical equipment. Develops and implements effective asset strategies to improve reliability of electrical equipment and infrastructure at the site.

Electrical Engineer Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor of Science Degree* in Electrical Engineering 5+ years' experience in related field at a manufacturing facility Knowledge of NEC and NFPA electrical codes, Electrical Power Distribution systems, Electrical Control systems, AC motor drives, logic and one-line diagrams, intercom systems, motor protection relays, high and medium voltage switchgears, UPS, Battery Banks, industrial automation equipment, and power electronics preferred. Programming experience (creation of new and modification to existing) of control devices including PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs preferred SAP experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills - verbal and written. Must be available for call-ins, weekend call, plant turnarounds, and after hours at short notice based on plant needs. Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's License.
