Network Systems Design Engineer Job Description We are seeking a talented Network Engineer with experience in Electrical Engineering and communication systems to join our dynamic engineering organization. This role will be based in our Lead Design Center (LDC) in Farmington, Connecticut. As a Network Systems Design Engineer, you will be involved in designing, validating, and solving complex technical challenges related to electrical and communication systems used worldwide in elevators. You will have hands-on exposure to our control systems, sensors, drives, and communication platforms. Responsibilities + Develop system/component level requirements and generate electrical design concepts and/or communication system designs. + Design and analyze analog and digital circuit assemblies. + Lead component and system level DFMEAs. + Perform environmental and functional qualification tests on hardware. + Work with compliance agencies to prepare compliance test plans and documentation. + Coordinate with suppliers and electronic manufacturing partners to bring designs into a production environment. + Work individually and across a matrixed team environment. Essential Skills + Experience with Ethernet, PCB layout, and/or CAN protocol. + 3-5 years of relevant experience in Network/Communications Engineering. + BSc. Degree in Electrical Engineering, networking, communication systems, or a closely related field. + 5 years of hands-on experience with electrical component/assembly design and/or communication systems design. + Hands-on experience with analog and digital signal analysis and measurements. + Experience in selecting/designing/validating modules/assemblies with wired (serial/CAN/Ethernet/USB) and/or wireless communication (BLE/Wi-Fi/Cellular) interfaces. + Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work in a matrix organization and manage multiple tasks related to different projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering and/or certifications in networking and communication systems (e.g., Cisco certification). + Prior experience in designing or testing systems to meet worldwide telecommunication standards.
