Position Summary:
This position is for an Electrical Engineer with a broad background and wide interests whose expertise can be applied to the development of cutting-edge military programs. Responsibilities include
•\tLeads electrical design projects of significant complexity.
•\tPerforms research, design, and development in such areas as power conditioning electronics, analog circuit design, digital circuit design, FPGA/ASIC design and verification, and other general electrical engineering design functions.
•\tApplies research to the planning, design, development, simulation and testing of electrical circuits for use in military applications.
•\tGenerates design schematics preferably with experience using CAD tools such as Mentor Graphics.
•\tDevelops specifications for and performs selection of components for use in electrical circuits for military applications.
•\tUtilizes electrical CAD tools such as Mentor System Vision, Power Intent, Hyperlynx, LTspice and others for circuit performance prediction in aid of circuit development.
•\tOversees board layout to create PWB designs and provides pertinent design factors for first pass success on circuit realization.
•\tStrong analytical skills and the ability to organize and prioritize job assignments and tasks.
•\tPossess strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a product development team to understand system level interdependencies that impact circuit requirements and design constraints.
•\tAn active learner of new design techniques and technologies.
•\tPreferably an understanding of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) disciplines; including design for assembly / design for manufacturing (DFA/DFM).
Qualifications:
•\tMust be able to acquire Government Secret clearance after hiring.
•\t5 years of experience with a BS degree or 3 years experiences with a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college with professional experience in the design, build, and validation of electrical circuits.
•\tSolid understanding of electronic product development processes.
•\tExperience creating and modeling electrical schematics, evaluate design robustness by simulation and lab testing. Using electronic design schematic capture and simulation tools.
Preferred Qualifications (Electrical Engineer):
•\tPreferably experience with Mentor Graphics design and simulation tools.
•\tPrinter Wiring Board layout and design experience. Knowledge on PWB manufacturing processes is preferred.
•\tUnderstanding of Six Sigma principles including design for manufacturing, assembly and test.
•\tExperience in developing high reliability electronics to meet military environments such as extreme temperature conditions, high G shock loads, vibration, and extended storage times.
•\tFamiliarity with high reliability design for military applications
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00
