Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to generate, evaluate, analyze, and develop electrical harness design concepts for components and assemblies. The ideal candidate will support the Program Management Office in the development and execution of project and resource plans for major NPD programs and smaller scale engineering change projects. The role involves coordinating and collaborating with various Engineering support groups to develop technical management plans with mitigation plans for technical risks. You will ensure adherence to DFMEA and DVPR processes, and manage laboratory and field-testing activities. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and key suppliers is essential to meet project deliverables. Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of Engineering designs, bill of materials, wiring diagrams, schematics, and test report documentation is critical.

ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and test the manufacture of electrical equipment, including machinery controls, wiring, and lighting.Evaluate the cost-effectiveness, reliability, and safety of design models.Estimate time and cost to complete projects.Simulate and test machine/structure/system operation.Investigate and test vendors’ and competitors’ products.Ensure adherence to DFMEA and DVPR processes.Coordinate and collaborate with Engineering support groups to develop technical management plans.Manage laboratory and field-testing activities.Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams and key suppliers to meet project deliverables.Ensure accuracy and completeness of Engineering designs, bill of materials, wiring diagrams, schematics, and test report documentation.Essential SkillsExperience with vehicle electrical system design and harness/interconnection systems.Experience with electric machines, power electronics, and automotive networks (e.g., CAN).Proficiency with electrical tools and instruments for tests, troubleshooting, and data gathering.Virtual harness design and documentation skills (Pro/Engineer or Creo Schematic proficiency).Experience with PLM systems to control documentation (e.g., Windchill).Experience with new product design, sustaining engineering, technical problem-solving, and tradeoff analysis.Ability to quickly and efficiently understand, condense, and organize information to make informed engineering decisions.Self-motivated with strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.Demonstrated ability to prioritize and support multiple projects.Strong project planning, management, and organizational skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with CAN protocol, testing system integration, and PCB design.Ability to deal with complex issues and troubleshooting.Experience with designing products using different but similar CAD and software programs.Knowledge of Creo and ability to model harnesses using Creo Schematic.Work Environment

This position is within an engineering environment where you will be working on high-tech electric vehicles (EV). The role involves designing the highest volume project, primarily focusing on integrating starting systems, fuel systems, and ensuring all components work together. You will be part of a team transitioning from old power systems to new electrification, developing new designs, and utilizing skills in Creo and similar software programs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00
