Job Description
Directly support aircraft technology for a government organization. This role involves applying engineering techniques to develop, design, modify, install, test, evaluate, and operate electrical and related systems for military weapon systems or associated support equipment.
ResponsibilitiesResearch, develop, design, modify, install, test, evaluate, and operate electrical, electronic, avionics, mechanical, communications, stores, armament/ordnance, or related data processing systems for military weapon systems or associated support equipment or components.Develop engineering and Technical Directive (TD) change documentation, including Rapid Action Maintenance Engineering Change (RAMEC), Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), Accessory Bulletin (AYB), Airframe Bulletin (AFB), Accessory Change (AYC), and Airframe Change (AFC) as required.Create TD instructions to implement proposed changes or upgrades to all Avionics and Electrical systems installed on F/A-18 and EA-18G aircraft and other systems as directed.Include drawings, technical illustrations, and work package instructions for technical manuals and fleet documentation in engineering change documentation.Provide support on all phases of ongoing and upcoming Avionics and Electrical modification projects, including developing technical data packages, attending validations, verifications, and equipment installations, providing on-site support and reports, and overseeing Organizational and Depot Level related troubleshooting, testing, and installation issues.Document any deficiencies discovered and provide recommendations for improvement to resolve system integration issues, program construction, and modification of electronic equipment associated with F/A-18 aircraft to achieve sustainment of existing aircraft.Essential SkillsElectrical engineeringEngineering change ordersAircraft systems knowledgeAvionics electrical systemsFlight control systemsElectrical designHardware engineeringAdditional Skills & QualificationsAt least ten (10) years of hands-on experience in an engineering position.Secret Clearance or HigherBS degree in Engineering.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
