Electrical Engineer - Cities and Places

As an Electrical Engineer based in San Francisco, California, you’ll be using your design and analysis skills to plan and design electrical systems for buildings and facilities, including mission critical, and institutional projects, as well as provide guidance and leadership on projects. Responsibilities include: * Promote a culture of caring, quality, safety and Inclusion and Diversity. * Serve as technical lead and resource on projects within discipline. * Carry out the responsibilities of a Lead Engineer on projects or provide technical support / leadership on a project. * Design and perform calculations for lighting systems and associated controls. * Prepare load studies, short circuit analysis, and arc flash evaluations. * Prepare load analysis for different stages of design. * Prepare drawings detailing the system designed. * Prepare basis of design reports. * Prepare and document energy compliance calculations and forms. * Select equipment and fixtures for use in the building. * Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects. Our Electrical Engineers perform a wide range of skills as part of an integrated design building services provider. Our skills include power system planning, power distribution, lighting design, fire and life safety systems, vertical transportation, and construction coordination. Vertical building and infrastructure project types can include data centers, educational, healthcare, life sciences, industrial, and aviation sectors. * Bachelor’s degree, or advanced, in Electrical Engineering * Professional experience as an Electrical Engineer (Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience) * Professional Engineering Licensure or ability to obtain within a year after hire is required * Demonstrated aptitude, ability, and capacity to lead projects * Strong social, communication, planning, and organizational skills * Solid knowledge and application of the electrical requirements per NFPA 70, 70E, 72, 101, 110, building codes, energy codes, and other related standards such as IEEE and ASHRAE standards * Extensive knowledge of Short Circuit Coordination Studies and Arc Flash Analysis utilizing SKM or Easy Power * Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM software * Project experience may include: Mission Critical & Data Centers, Higher Ed, Research labs, Manufacturing plants, Aviation, P&ID Ideally, You’ll Also Have: * OSHPD desirable * Knowledge of Telecommunications, Fire Alarm, and/or Security systems Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
