Job Title: Electrical Engineer/DesignerJob Description
In this role, you will lead the design of small to large projects, ensuring completion in accordance with client expectations and professional standards. You will coordinate and review the work of engineers, designers, interns, and CAD Drafters while mentoring electrical staff. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing construction documents, conducting field observations, developing specifications, and visiting construction sites as needed.
Responsibilities
+ Coordinate and review the work of engineers, designers, interns, and CAD Drafters.
+ Mentor electrical staff and provide oversight for work performed by the team.
+ Prepare construction documents and field observation reports.
+ Develop and edit specifications.
+ Visit construction sites for observation, answering contractor questions, and preparing punch lists.
+ Present and develop planning and design concepts for complex projects.
+ Establish and maintain project staffing requirements consistent with contractual obligations.
+ Follow and enforce quality control procedures.
+ Coordinate with consultants.
+ Review RFPs and determine submission requirements.
+ Ensure compliance with project criteria and requirements.
+ Collaborate with other disciplines and team members.
+ Lead electrical systems design for building projects, including power systems and lighting.
+ Perform design calculations for power systems, lighting, and associated controls.
+ Prepare Title 24 compliance forms.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's Degree in Architectural/Electrical Engineering.
+ 10 years or more of industry experience.
+ Comprehensive knowledge of California codes and standards.
+ PE license preferred.
+ Proficient in Autodesk Revit and CAD.
+ Excellent planning and organization skills.
+ Strong communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in electrical engineering, electrical design, and low voltage systems.
+ Project management skills.
Work Environment
The engineering team is close-knit and collaborates frequently on projects, sharing ideas to meet deadlines. While individual responsibilities exist on different projects, the team supports each other, contributing to a work environment where most employees stay for over 10 years.
