Electrical Engineer - Entry/Mid-Level - Oil & Gas City Midland State TX Country United States Area of Interest Electrical Engineering Type Full Time - Regular Job ID 2024-13294 Business Group Energy & Industrial Group Department Electrical Engineering Description This position will offer you the opportunity to work in a project team environment with other engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing oil and gas facility electrical systems. This position will also offer the opportunity to support the design of power plants and other industrial facilities.You will work on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of electrical engineering issues.Assist project lead in efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.Support the project lead in coordinating systems design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements.Prepare and review detailed calculations, including three phase power transient studies, voltage drop, and protective relay settings.Prepare documentation for design input for drawing production.Interface with vendors to prepare materials and equipment purchase specifications for client recommendations.Prepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements and S&L formats.Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation.

This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week.

Essential skills and experience:

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required.2+ years of experience in Oil and Gas or industrial plant design, with a focus on integrated, detailed system design for new facilities, or modifications or replacements for existing facilities. Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications. Experience with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors), communication systems, equipment selection, and analytical calculations.Technically knowledgeable of available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems to execute systems design.Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.Experience in reviewing other engineers design calculations and drawings.This position in based in Midland, TX and will require occasional travel.

Valued but not required skills and experience:

Construction and start-up experience a plus.A Masters degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
