Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join the Research Scientist Group at our client. This role will support various ongoing projects that require hardware for in lab data collection including the construction installation and maintenance of EMG devices.
As a Electrical Engineer you will play a critical role in hardware construction installation testing and providing in lab support. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure the success of our clients projects
Responsibilities
System Construction and Assembly Responsible for ordering components tracking inventory and soldering cables electronics and sensors is Mandatory.
Hardware Installation Install hardware in lab facilities Mandatory.
Hardware Support Debug hardware failures adjust cameras recalibrate sensors swap parts when necessary manage hardware or software upgrades and coordinate with Research Assistants RAs for support Mandatory.
Study Monitoring Oversee study rollout and manually inspect data quality in new rigs. On call Be on call for hardware issues reported by RAs Mandatory.
Device Upgrades Support device upgrades and new EMG hardware rollouts in lab facilities Mandatory.
Engineering Design and Prototyping Conduct CAD modeling and order prototypes through internal or external vendors Optional.
Data Quality Inspection Debug signal quality issues for EMG and ground truth during study rollouts.
Qualifications
Bachelors or masters degree in mechanical engineering ideally with a background in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in Mechanical and or Electrical Engineering-related fields.
Strong knowledge of hardware construction installation data collection data analysis debugging and testing.
Experience with scripting languages with a preference for Python.
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and foster effective cooperation.
Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive problem-solving attitude.
Skills Required
Proficiency in operating systems Windows Linux) and programming languages C Cplus plus preferred.
Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks AutoCAD or similar.
Familiarity with Jenkins and Python.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $84K to 91K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
