Job DescriptionElectrical Engineer I is the first working level of the engineering series. To provide electrical engineering support for production operations and the continuous improvement of machine and equipment controls.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
Acts as an electrical engineering resource to assist Maintenance Technicians troubleshoot machine control problems when additional resources, skills, or knowledge are required to solve the problem.Manages machine and equipment upgrade projects including investigations, cost estimates, installations, and start-up. This can include expense type projects as well as capital upgrade projects.Learns new capital equipment operation, controls structure/design, and hardware in order to build knowledge and proficiency to support and implement effective maintenance.Assist Project Engineering with equipment installation, checkout, start-up and training as necessary.Is aware of industry standard and strives to improve and implement safety. Examples are National and State Electrical codes and NFPA70E (arc flash) codes.Key resource for the completion of preventative maintenance on electrical substations and high voltage switchgear. This includes documentation of observations, testing, and follow-up actions.Participates as a team member on equipment project teams, safety teams, and continuous improvement teams to continuously improve operations (including safety, quality, service, and costs).WHAT WE VALUE
