**POSITION SUMMARY:**
Advanced Energy is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Remote Plasma Sources engineering team in Fort Collins, Colorado. The ideal candidate will perform applied research, design, development, testing, and documentation of products or systems. They would work closely with other engineers and technicians to ensure system requirements are met and that the product works in the intended application. The role includes both design and application work in the fields of RF and Power Electronics, specifically DC-DC switching power supplies.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Responsible for the design and analysis of new and existing Remote Plasma Source systems to meet system/subsystems/circuits to specification, cost, budget, schedule, and quality goals.
+ Responsible to diagnose issues of diverse scope with design, field performance, reliability and manufacturing test yields of existing Remote Plasma Source products using formal investigation methods and to recommend/implement corrective actions to address.
+ Responsible for the documentation of designs, verification of requirements and validation in the end use environment.
+ Responsible for identifying product and process limitations and identifying opportunities for product improvement.
+ Responsible for initiating and managing through to completion engineering changes using the ECO process.
+ Responsible for helping identify the engineering scope of work and plan/implement engineering related activities using project management tools.
+ Provides directions to engineering technicians related to product specific work
+ Responsible for the design and analysis of derivative products based on existing products and/or subsystems and circuits to specification, cost, budget, schedule, and quality goals.
+ Responsible for analyzing manufacturing data using statistical methods to monitor manufacturing performance.
+ Accepts inputs from engineering management to respond to changing priorities derived from inputs from Product Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Global Support, Supply Chain, Quality, Technical Service Organization, and Field Application Engineering.
+ Responsible for identifying, and evaluating obsolete components in existing designs, selecting possible replacement alternatives, and re-designing circuitry as required to meet performance criteria and functional transparency to original design.
**WORK ENVIRONMENT:**
+ Works in both a standard office environment as well as a lab and/or clean room.
+ Must be able to travel 10% of the time. Travel involves international and domestic travel to customers and vendors.
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Experience with RF and Analog circuits AND/OR Power Electronics, specifically DC-DC switching power supplies.
+ Read, understand and edit schematics of RF and analog circuits, model RF circuits.
+ Knowledge of PCBA layout principles as applied to RF circuits and DC switching power supplies.
+ Demonstrated ability to design and specify components in high power RF circuit design.
+ Able to work independently with little instruction/oversight.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
+ Ability to work safely and in an organized fashion in a fast-paced lab.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Use of PCBA design packages, Altium preferred.
+ Use of RF simulation software.
+ Use of analysis software (LTSPICE).
**EXPERIENCE:**
+ 2 - 5 years engineering experience (hardware)
+ Or masters degree in RF or Power Electronics
**EDUCATION:**
+ A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a concentration on RF or Power Electronics
**COMPENSATION:**
_As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $80,000 to $100,000 per year._
