Generac Clean Energy Solutions seeks an experienced, capable Electrical Engineer II to contribute to product development for a rapidly growing family of clean energy products produced through an international network of contract manufacturers.
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that new and upgraded products meet design specifications and customer needs across a broad range of applications and operating conditions. He/she will work closely with leaders in Pika/Generac Product Management, Product Development, Operations and Core Engineering groups, and communicate design decisions and results for rapid feedback and learning.
This position is based in South Portland, Maine.
Preferred Qualifications:Power electronics design, development, & test experience. Familiarity or experience in Schematic Entry & PCB design/manufacturing. Familiarity or experience in WCA, DFMEA, Risk Assessment, and other design analysis tools. Grid interconnect requirements experience. Knowledge of PV, wind, or other distributed energy generation and storage. Hands on experience working with engineering lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition systems, etc. Analog circuit design and Magnetic component design/specification. Familiarity with third party certification and testing (e.g., NRTL, environmental). Project management experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Excellent electrical engineering theory and component familiarity. Creativity and innovation in electronics and product design. Able to work well in a team environment and ability to be a team leader at times. Hands-on electronics lab and benchtop testing & rework skills. Strong decision-making skills based on sound engineering principles. Excellent written and oral communications.

The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
