Electrical Engineer IV

Job Description:

Design sub-transmission systems, substations, switching stations, and power distribution systems.Create and assess design alternatives, perform engineering calculations, and develop estimates.Build and review complex electrical system models, ensuring accuracy.Draft electrical specifications for major equipment.Model large-scale power systems using ETAP and conduct analyses.Prepare bills of materials and technical specifications.Conduct field evaluations and site surveys, develop design concepts, and prepare cost estimates.Maintain and update the GIS database for electrical distribution systems.Stay informed about utility industry standards and codes.Support construction personnel and manage projects, including schedules and RFIs.Analyze electrical faults, power quality issues, and system loading scenarios.Mentor junior engineers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (power systems emphasis preferred)8+ years of experience in the electrical utility industryExperience with medium voltage electrical substations and distribution systemsExpertise in power system analysis, distribution system modeling, and protective device coordinationExcellent oral and written communication skills

Work Environment:

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $138000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
