This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As an Electrical Engineer (Test Equipment Developer), you will be responsible for:

Collaborating with multiple engineering and science disciplines across R&D and manufacturing teams to develop test methods and equipment for complex Positron Emission Tomography (PET) detectors and electronics. Supporting test equipment throughout the complete lifecycle: prototype evaluation, performance testing, system integration, manufacturing launch and sustaining through commercialization. 

The applicant should be a self- driven engineer who enjoys hands on developing and experimentation to provide methods and equipment in both laboratory and integrated design team environments. 

This is an on-site position with hybrid work opportunities. Minimal travel may be required (<5%) to suppliers, collaboration partners and other Siemens MI locations.

Selecting, testing, and integrating hardware and software components to enable equipment operation based on functional requirements.Software application design utilizing digital / analog circuitry, measurement, display, and reporting methods using multiple programming languages.Adherence to formal technical and regulatory documentation practices required for medical device manufacturing. (Examples: Test Equipment Validation Plans / Results, Manufacturing Process Instructions, BOM, Wiring / Pneumatic Diagrams, Schematics, Etc.)Methodical troubleshooting techniques for equipment and assembly hardware, software, firmware, circuit board, component, and sub-assemblies. Attending team design meetings to provide feedback and recommendations relative to area of responsibility.Translating functional requirements and specifications into test methods and processes.

Required skills to have for the success of this role

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent discipline.Extensive technical knowledge and related experience (7+ years) in development, integration, implementation, and support of complex manufacturing equipment.Hardware and peripherals such as PXI, ADC/DAC, digital multiplexers, power supplies, etc.Data acquisition and measurement such as signal processing, digital I/O, I²C, RS-232, etc. Networking protocols and communication formats such as TCP/IP, Client / Server communications: HTTP(s), JSON, XML, etc.Software development environments including MS Visual Studio, C#, NI LabVIEW, PythonSoftware versioning tools such as GitTroubleshooting tools such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, probes, analyzers, etc.  Proficient detailed planning and execution within development cycles and schedules.Excellent communication skills allowing cross departmental interaction with various levels and disciplines.
