Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the Transportation electrical team, of the Infrastructure and transportation team based in the Atlanta, GA.


What a day at EXP has in store for you

Prepare detailed designs for transportation electrical systems using Microstation or Open Roads Conduct detailed calculations such as voltage drop, illumination, conductor and conduit sizing, and grounding to ensure that designs meet relevant engineering standards and applicable codes. Perform complete lighting analysis using AGi32.
Perform Traffic signal design. Design of electrical layouts for cable raceways/underground conduits, lighting, panel schedules design, lighting poles and base details, luminaire schedule, electrical grounding. Coordination with Designers and Engineers from other disciplines. Perform site visits and contract administration. Preparing Contract documents, including specifications and cost estimates.


What your experience looks like

An Engineering degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited University. Minimum of (5) years continuous experience in detailed design and design consultancy. EIT required, plan for PE within 2 years required Knowledge of IES-RP-8 and Roadway lighting and Parking lot lighting. Previous experience in Transportation and Transit projects is a must. Experience with advanced lighting design tools (AGi32) would be considered an asset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation and SPIDACalc. Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards (CSA, OBC, NFPA, AREMA and IEEE standards). Experience with electrical design tools/software such as. ETAP, and SKM would be considered an asset. Knowledge of electrical calculations (short circuit, load flow, protection coordination, arc flash, cable sizing, and lighting design) would be considered an asset.
