Your OpportunityMorrison Hershfield’s, now Stantec, Integrated Engineering Design (IED) group provides integrated engineering solutions to institutional, industrial, residential and commercial clients with a focus on transit, telecom, waste management, higher education and food/beverage facilities that require reliable and cost effective infrastructure for both new and retrofit solutions. Your Key Responsibilities Prepares electrical construction drawings and specifications in conjunction with our in-house mechanical, architectural, and civil/structural design teams Prepares designs for electrical, utility-provided power distribution, standby power distribution (UPS & generators), lighting, lightning protection, operational and monitoring control systems, mission critical facility grounding, and fire alarm conceptual systems under senior direction Documents study progress/results through the preparation of memos, minutes and reports as a record of events May provide technical support in client meetings Conducts site visit surveys of buildings for the purposes of collecting design information related to electrical service, fire alarm, grounding and lightning protection as they relate to data center or telecommunications facilities Prepares field information documentation of site visit surveys Reviews shop drawings and equipment submittal for compliance with data center or telecommunications facilities construction document requirements Provides field construction management support (inspections, punch list generation, project close-out) Adheres to corporate quality control and assurance processes for all electrical design work Prepares electrical engineering analyses for projects to include short circuit, device coordination and ARC flash hazard studies, voltage drop studies, photometric lighting calculations, demand load calculations, and generator and UPS sizing calculations. Training will be provided Proven proficiency using and understanding the NFPA 70 National Electrical Code Working knowledge and understanding of the NFPA 110 Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems, NFPA780 Standard for the Installation of Lightning Protection Systems, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code is essential - AutoCAD and Revit proficiency is a must Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills Commissioning Conduct project delivery activities related to Mission Critical Facilities Commissioning, including; whole building commissioning, best practices Commissioning, retro-commissioning, and re-commissioning projects Be available for extensive site visits associated with the delivery of Commissioning services throughout North America. Site visits could be for extended periods of time Attend meetings and coordinate work as related to Commissioning services with other disciplines and team members, the design team, construction team and the owners team Your Capabilities and Credentials Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, power distribution, emergency power, uninterrupted power supplies, communication systems security systems, grounding, UPS and lighting, and lightning protection Experience providing quality control on design and specifications for buildings and facilities is a plus Experience in design/construction review and contract administration Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is a must Interest in buildings, commissioning, energy management, sustainability and construction Desire to divide time between on-site activities and office administrative duties Ability to work independently with little or no daily supervision Ability to work on low-rise rooftops, outdoors throughout the year Strong understanding of low and medium voltage electrical distribution and generator and switchgear controls Strong demonstrated written and oral communication skills in English Intimate knowledge of all building codes related to electrical engineering Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) Ability to handle multiple projects with the ability to effectively prioritize Strong relationship and interpersonal skills required Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a strong customer service commitmentEducation and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, EIT required and demonstrated progress toward achieving PE within 2-4 year's experience in Electrical Engineering. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

Additional Information Salary Range(s): Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s): Location Description: Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO and HI and MD Min Pay Range: $82,600 Max Pay Range: $119,800 Note: The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
