Compensation :
Electrical Engineering Intern (Rep.) (TA) : $ 64,608 - $ 6 8,034
Responsibilities :
Incumbent will be responsible for performing tasks regarding CBTC project s (QBL West, 8 th Ave, etc.) . Reviewing technical documentation (i.e., schematics, drawings, wiring diagrams, test procedures, test reports); support vendor comprehensive CBTC test plans; assist in preparing test reports; assist in developing and implementing modification procedures; provide technical support for M aintenance S hops in troubleshooting and diagnosing Carbone CBTC electronic and software system failures and provide shop support for equipment and software integration, installations and modifications.
Education and Experience :
A baccalaureate degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college. A degree in any other engineering area or in electrical engineering technology is not acceptable .
Desired Skills :
+ Review and analysis of documentation related to electrical/electronic systems and microprocessor based controls /systems .
+ Use of computer based data capture software or test equipment and data analysis.
+ Interpret and analyze electronic equipment performance data (i.e. test data, data downloads, on screen data).
+ Practical knowledge of electrical/electronic circuits/systems, software, computer programming/coding, communications networks.
+ Troubleshooting of microprocessor based and electronic systems.
+ Practical knowledge of MS Office applications.
+ Working knowledge of PC based engineering simulation and analysis tools.
+ Ability to visit field locations on an as needed basis in the performance of assigned tasks.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Selection Method :
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
