This position is also available in: Las Vegas AZ, Milwaukee WI, Santa Fe NM, Phoenix AZ, Denver CO, Los Angeles CA or any major city West of Chicago. The site is in the Southwest so as long as you can spend 30% of your time onsite, that will work. They want to limit travel expenses so they prefer a regional candidate
This opportunity is working directly with an emerging mission-critical data center developer / Colo provider that has an eye for leveraging alternative power sources. This challenging and unique role will involve managing the design of critical power systems for their new data center and expansion as they continue to design additional data centers. The ideal candidate will have past experience designing electrical power systems and mechanical cooling systems specifically for data centers. They will have experience and in-depth knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution System design and installation. Previous experience with electrical equipment design to include Generators, UPS systems and electrical switchgear is a must. They will also need mechanical cooling systems design, controls, energy storage microgrids, and solar. You will help lead the design team and working / communicating with all the trades, internal customers, external vendors including construction and stakeholders involved in all projects. Working and communicating with internal team and clients effectively is a must.

8-15 years experienceBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering degreeLicensed PE / EIT a PlusPrevious experience using / reviewing: Revit MEP projects, AutoCAD MEP, BIM a plusExperience with Electrical Systems such as UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), Generators, Switchgears, and Batteries a MUSTExperience with Mechanical Cooling Systems such as CRAC, CRAH, Air Handlers, Chillers, etc. a plusExperience with Automation / ControlsSolar / energy storage systems, microgrids a huge plusExperience working on complex data center/mission critical facilities design projects a mustAbility to successfully work independentlySelf Starter, self motivated, and should prioritize wellPrevious experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus!
