Electrical Engineering Project Manager
Job Title: Project Manager - Electrical Engineering for Solar Projects

Job Description

This position is primarily responsible for leading the technical electrical engineering evaluation, design, and execution of solar projects. The successful candidate will manage the design and review of solar system drawings, including electrical interconnection, modeling, and performance data. The role requires preparing and reviewing single line diagrams, electrical block diagrams, power and instrumentation plans, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and industry standards.

ResponsibilitiesManage the design and review of solar system drawings including electrical interconnection, modeling, and performance data.Review technical equipment specifications and conceptual/detailed design including analysis of load flow, voltage drop, arc flash, and integration of protective relay systems and controls.Prepare and review single lines, electrical block diagrams, power, and instrumentation plans.Assess project structural considerations and interconnect issues.Coordinate various engineering-related activities such as studies and surveys.Review engineering work to ensure compliance with applicable codes, industry standards, safety practices, technical specifications, and contractual requirements.Review technical portions of RFP and contract documents.Conduct site visits to determine optimal design/layout/point of interconnection (POI).Act as liaison with Project Management on matters relating to engineering progress, quality, and scope issues on projects, as well as interface with customers on technical questions and concerns.Support the preparation of sales proposals and needs relative to quoting, design, and follow up.Travel as needed.Essential SkillsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical EngineeringMinimum 2 years of experience in electrical designKnowledge of project managementProficiency in design software such as Helioscope, AutoCAD, and PVsystStrong written and verbal communication skillsCritical and innovative thinkingAttention to detailAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyAdditional Skills & QualificationsNABCEP Design Specialist Certification (preferred)Knowledge of Electric (NEC) and Fire codesExperience with various solar panels and invertersExperience preparing electrical engineering design packages
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
