We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Tech in our Horseheads, NY facility where we execute product development for fiber-optic products. This role works in Engineering R&D with hands-on prototype and new product development from concept through transfer to manufacturing.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Assemble Electronics prototypes from the ground up (except for optics) Assembly to include circuit boards, test, and documentation Assist with debugging Modify and upgrade boards Keep track of stock; to include components and boards Configure tracking of all prototype boards and systems on site Support repair of test equipmentEducation & Experience
7+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education & experience Hands-on experience with electronics assembly and test including experience using oscilloscopes, power supplies, voltmeters, soldering equipment required Experience assembling or modifying circuit boards with surface mount components required Hands-on prototyping experience strongly preferredSkills
Ability to read electrical schematics and Gerber files Ability to troubleshoot electronic assemblies Excellent teamwork Ability to help with local IT support is a plusWorking Conditions

Physical Requirements
Ability to occasionally lift/push/pull up to 20 lbs. Able to sit, stand, bend, squat and walk about the facility. Walk of uneven and slippery surfaces. Ability to reach around various production equipment to troubleshoot issues, perform calibration, and maintenance.Safety Requirement
