Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Engineering Electronic Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for assembling prototype PC boards and assemblies for space applications and defense programs. This role involves performing soldering tasks, reading blueprints or schematics, and working closely with the engineering team on complex projects for the Navy, the Space Industry, and major defense contractors.
ResponsibilitiesAssemble prototype PC boards and assemblies for space and defense applications.Perform soldering tasks including through-hole and surface mount soldering.Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering sketches.Repair and rework assemblies based on J-Std standards and collaborations with the engineering team.Work on projects involving small components, such as 20 and 32 gauge wires, under a microscope.Troubleshoot, test, and reassemble electronic components in partnership with engineers.Essential Skills3-7+ years of experience in soldering, through-hole, and surface mount with PC board assembly.Experience with microscope soldering and J-Std with Space Addendum.2+ years of experience with assembly for space, defense, or aerospace products or components in a prototype, R&D, or new product development area.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering sketches.Proficiency in troubleshooting, inspecting, and testing avionics electronics and electro-mechanical components.Additional Skills & QualificationsIPC Certifications.Experience with NASA Space specs or Defense Specs.Experience working in an R&D lab or engineering environment.Familiarity with cleanroom practices.Work Environment
You will be working in a smaller shop with a team-oriented environment. Our client operates in commercial, space, and defense markets, providing rugged aerospace-grade data-acquisition and control systems for use onboard rockets, spacecraft, aircraft, and other remote platforms operating in extreme environments.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
