This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DIB & MRTFB to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Located in the Directorate of Industrial Operations, Ground Equipment & Missile Systems Division, Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, PA. Responsibilities Fabricate wiring harness in an electronic control system. Utilize blueprints or manuals for repair toward electrical components. Inspect electrical components within a wiring harness. Direct work to lower-level employees. Perform final testing on electrical wiring harness. Select materials, tools and methods to be used for work assignments. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This is a term position not to exceed 13 months. Term positions may be extended up to a maximum of 6 years, and MAY NOT be converted to permanent. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electrical Equipment Repairer ~ without more than normal supervision. Have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) providing repair to an electronic control system, inspecting electrical components within a wiring harness system, interpreting electrical blueprints or manuals, and selecting the proper materials or methods required for work assignments. Work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. ?????????????? Physical Effort: There is frequent lifting and carrying parts and harnesses, which may weigh up to 20 pounds. There are prolonged periods of standing, stooping, and bending. Working Conditions: Works in well lighted and heated areas. Subject to cuts while fabricating harnesses and electrical shock or burns while soldering, attaching connectors and performing tests. There is a possibility of falls while working from step ladders. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
