Purpose of the Position: The Electrical Facilities Engineer will be responsible for overseeing, maintaining, repairing, and improving site electrical systems within the facility, including high voltage distribution, switching, substations, power monitoring, lighting, and controls systems. This role ensures electrical reliability, safety, and compliance with regulations, while supporting facility operations and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in electrical engineering and experience in a production environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems for facility operations. Conduct regular inspections and testing of electrical equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards and regulations. Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for electrical systems to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency. Collaborate with other departments and contractors on electrical upgrades, equipment installations, and troubleshooting. Troubleshoot electrical system failures and malfunctions, providing timely and effective resolutions to minimize operational disruptions. Ensure all electrical systems comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including NEC, OSHA, and NFPA codes. Optimize energy usage and implement strategies for cost-effective, energy-efficient operations. Maintain detailed documentation of electrical systems, including wiring diagrams, maintenance records, and compliance reports. Assist in developing capital projects and facility expansions related to electrical infrastructure. Support emergency response efforts in the event of electrical system failures or outages.

 

Work Hours

Standard Hours (Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm) Managing a 24/7 plant structure, so occasional support when needed. 

 

Required Skills

 

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field 5 + years of experience in electrical systems design, installation, or maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing facility. In-depth knowledge of power distribution systems, control systems, and electrical safety standards. Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP) for system modifications and upgrades. Experience with facility maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking electrical maintenance activities. Strong understanding of electrical safety regulations, including OSHA and NFPA standards. Excellent critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders. Efficient in Microsoft applications; Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint.  Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

 

Desired Skills

Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), SCADA systems, and other automation technologies. Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices, particularly in reducing electrical consumption. Project management experience, including leading electrical system upgrades and facility improvement projects. Familiarity with backup power systems, such as generators and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). Familiarity with PLCs and other automation systems used in facility operations. Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment, particularly with specialized equipment. Project management skills, with the ability to lead facility improvement projects from conception to completion. Semiconductor manufacturing.

 

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose electrical issues and recommend solutions. Excellent communication and people skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams, contractors, and management. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic work environment. Meticulous, ensuring all electrical systems are operating safely and efficiently. Initiative-taking and self-directed, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This role is critical to ensuring the facility’s electrical systems are dependable, safe, and energy-efficient, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term facility goals.

The range for this position is  $92,726.00   -  $127,498.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
