Electrical Field Engineer

We are searching for an Electrical Field Engineer on behalf of our client for 12 months contract assignment. The person will be responsible for supporting 2 solar projects within the S. Colorado region. This person will be in the field for significant amounts of time, working with project team enforcing the specifications with the EPC contractor. The person must be able to look at the drawings/specifications and determine what requires action/correction on the EPC contractor side. The person may be working with external equipment suppliers who have direct contractual agreements with the client.

 

 

Location:  Pueblo, CO onsite

Hourly rate is $85.00/hr.+ DOE.  Non-Exempt position. 12 months contract assignment.

Per Diem offered.  No relocation assistance available.

The person will mostly be in the field 3 day/week and 2 days remote.

           

Responsibilities:

Will work with EPC contractors and field inspectors. In addition to a Project specific team consisting of project manager and engineer, construction field team, construction manager x3, construction/civil inspectors in addition to the Lead electrical engineer who will visit the site as well. Will be working closely with the Project controls cost/scheduling staff. Will be working closely with project field inspectors and the field inspectors would work to report any NCRs to this resource. If the field inspector sees something, they will consult with a field engineer and the field engineer is able to look at it (something that's not compliant with the specifications or something that's potentially problematic), as the owner of these facilities. Have knowledge of how to resolve a RFI and NCR noncompliance request. Will work with the lead electrical engineer on the project to be able to understand and interpret design drawings and managing the compliance of the construction to the design drawings and managing RFI requests. Will be providing information to the contractors or field construction teams, as they often require information such as specifications and drawings. This resource will have responsibility to understand and manage the scope of the contract

 

Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Advanced computer software skills  Familiarity with ProjectWise, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam would be helpful to review EPC contractors’ drawings (technical review communication tool). SAP is a plus. Must have at least five years of experience Have renewable generation project experience and be willing/able to travel and stay at the site for approximately 3 days per week. Have 2-3 years/equivalent experience with other renewables as well.            EIT is a plus!
