Job Description

Electrical Field Engineer (Industrial Control Experience)

We are looking for a highly skilled Electrical Service Engineer with Experience in industrial controls. This position requires a strong understanding of 3-phase power, VFDs, basic motor control, and the ability to travel up to 50% of the time. The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting complex electrical circuits and providing in-house technical support when not on the road.

Hard Skills4-year Bachelor's Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering2+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering / Industrial ControlsUnderstanding of 3-phase power (208-600 volts), relay logic, circuit breakers, contactors, VFDs, electronics, and microcomputersAdvanced schematic reading and understanding of wiring diagramsUnderstanding of PLC ladder diagrams, troubleshooting, and program editsExperience with 3-phase industrial motors and reduced voltage startingKnowledge of UL 508A standard (preferred)Soft SkillsInterest in Field Service and ability to travelAbility to troubleshoot complex electrical circuitsProviding in-house technical support and troubleshooting over the phoneJob Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 9 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Lake Bluff, Illinois.

Work Environment

Small manufacturing company with approximately 35 employees. Field Technicians will travel to oversee installation processes, factory acceptance testing, and power up of equipment in large warehouses, commercial buildings, and high-rises. Products include Fire Pump Controllers per building codes for fire safety.
