Length: 6 month contract to hire (W2 only)

Location: Madison WI - Onsite

Position Overview:

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in PCB design, schematic layout, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with FPGA chips, embedded firmware, and RTOS (preferably FreeRTOS, though experience with any RTOS is acceptable). This is a long-term position with a goal to convert to full-time after six months.

Key Responsibilities:

PCB Design & Troubleshooting:Research and select components for new boards.Design schematics and participate in design reviews.Bring up new boards and perform testing to ensure they meet specifications.Conduct root cause analysis and resolve engineering issues.Embedded Firmware Development:Write firmware for microcontrollers, including maintenance and revisions.Ensure firmware functions correctly on both new and existing hardware.Hands-On Work:Use oscilloscopes and other debugging tools.Perform soldering and physical board troubleshooting.Work onsite to physically check boards and perform hardware testing.Collaboration & Meetings:Attend specification meetings to ensure designs meet intended functionality.Work closely with the lead engineer (remote) and the broader hardware team.Contribute to custom hardware and console controls for entertainment systems.

Requirements:

Technical Skills:Experience with FPGA devices (Xilinx, Altera) and tools (Vivado, Quartus).Proficiency in HDL languages like VHDL or Verilog.Familiarity with debugging/simulation tools and custom/off-the-shelf hardware.Ability to design basic boards or modify/troubleshoot existing ones.Strong understanding of schematics and board-level troubleshooting.Education:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering SMA12225MAD_1737564371 To Apply for this Job Click Here
