DuPont is immediately hiring an experienced Electrician & Instrument Technician at our Wilmington, DE office.
Roles and Responsibilities
Instrumentation and Electrical installations, commission, repairs & calibration of equipment
Flexibility to apply skills in both the Electrical and Instrumentation fields
Conduct instrumentation evaluation and troubleshooting for electrical, pneumatic, electronic as well as programmable logic control (PLC) systems.
Conduct test related to functional performance on instrumentation as needed by facility changes.
Comply with classification and prioritization system for completion of work order.
Ensure to interpret and suitably use electrical codes along with installation practices and standards.
Manage work effectively in a primarily dayshift environment but maybe required to support maintenance of the facility on a call-in basis
Work with minimum supervision and be a self-starter
Audit and initiate resolutions to unsafe conditions and deviations from Dupont Electrical Standards
Interpret Electrical and Instrumentation Diagrams and Manufacturers Literature to make necessary repairs and modifications
Read and interpret electrical schematics and NEC (National Electric Code) to determine wiring layout for new installations or troubleshooting.
Troubleshoot and repair faults in Electrical Equipment, Variable Speed Drives, Building Automation Systems, Lutron Lighting & Shade Control Systems…….
Understanding of Electrical Safety requirements with respect to Arc Flash Hazard mitigation and PPE requirements when working inside the arc flash boundary
Conduct preventative maintenance programs on electrical equipment in an office building environment
Working knowledge and understanding of Audio/Visual Equipment
Working knowledge of security and life safety systems
Qualifications & Competencies
Electrician or Electrical Technician or ability to obtain a journeyman’s license within one to two years
State of Delaware Apprentice or Journeyman’s License
At least 4 years’ experience with Electrical and/or Instrumentation maintenance
Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers and Variable Frequency Drive field troubleshooting
Strong Analytical and problem solving /troubleshooting skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral
Lutron System Programming Training
Strong Commitment to Safety and Ethical standards
Ability to work alone, in small teams and assist with other skilled trades
Energetic and self-motivated
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
