Responsibilities Inspects construction contract related to water and wastewater facilitiesReviews contract plans and specifications for constructability, notes, errors, omissions, and potential problem areasSchedules, plans, coordinates, and completes site inspectionsCoordinates construction related system outages with client facilitiesPrepares complete inspection reports and maintains a daily logMaintains complete project files including a project photo file.Keeps detailed records of construction progress, changed conditions, and as built drawingsPrepares monthly estimates of quantity of construction completedEstablishes and maintains effective working relationships with contractors, consultant, and ownerProvide assistance and verifies alternate methods of construction to meet the intent of each related codProvide assistance to architects, engineers, and contractors concerning electrical issues and designsReview assigned construction plans and engineering calculations for electrical systems to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and recommend method of compliance to meet the intent of each related itemKnowledgeable with relevant building and energy codes and how they apply to electrical installations. Provide interpretation and recommendations to ensure compliance with the intent of each codeInterpret and apply various utility standards and regulations as well as the RBCExplains and clarifies code related problems with contractor field personnelCommunicate and uphold standards consistently Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent5 years’ experience of responsible field inspection; Also requires 5-10 years of related experience on field projects, as well as formal certification from an independent organization, depending on type of inspection assignmentCompletion of OSHA 10 hour safety course and other construction trainingIn-depth knowledge of standard construction specifications, codes and special standards, methods, materials and equipment used in construction of water and wastewater facilitiesExperience with inspections at wastewater or water treatment plants is essential for this role. This is a full-time role with benefits, on a long-term projectIn-depth understanding of OSHA Construction Safety OrdersAbility to keep neat, accurate, and concise recordsWork independently with minimum supervisionStrong oral and written communications skillsStrong computer and internet skills Preferred Qualifications A 2-year degree in a technical discipline or construction-related field, or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience, is required.
