**Job Title: Electrical Instrumentation Tech** **Job Description** The Instrument Technician (EIT) is a crucial hourly position reporting to the IT Supervisor. This role requires a process expert who can handle electrical, electronic, and instrument specialist responsibilities. The position involves addressing process equipment issues, performing preventive and predictive maintenance, eliminating special cause variations, and driving safety and quality while optimizing plant efficiency. **Responsibilities** + Follow all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe, accident-free work environment. + Assist in analyzing, troubleshooting, installing, and repairing electrical equipment, instruments, controls, machinery, and systems. + Perform precision work using machines, equipment, and measuring instruments relevant to the job. + Ensure the availability of required items and inventory. + Utilize journeyman-level electrical, electronic, and instrument functional skills and light mechanical assembly to preserve and optimize plant assets. + Provide support and leadership to other craft and non-craft employees during maintenance tasks, particularly during breakdown scenarios. + Plan and perform operational maintenance on machinery and equipment associated with plant operations. + Work from electrical diagrams, engineering drawings, sketches, equipment manuals, and written or verbal instructions. + Act as a trainer for production, apprentice, and other craft personnel, participating in training plans and certification processes. + Act as a liaison to management, suppliers, and customers. + Assist with developmental and experimental projects. + Utilize computer expertise to complete records and reports, manage data, and use software applications like SAP. + Develop and maintain skills and knowledge through formal and informal training situations. + Modify and update schematics and catalogs. + Maintain and calibrate pH probes. + Perform lighting repairs, including lamp/ballast replacement, socket replacement, and wiring repair. + Make process equipment mechanical repairs, such as solenoid replacement, limit switch adjustments, and vertical pump rebuilds or replacements. **Essential Skills** + PLC troubleshooting + Ladder logic + Electrical maintenance + 480v and 24v systems + Photo eyes + Variable frequency drives (VFD) + Sensors + Start-stop switches + Electrical circuits + Schematics + Multimeter usage + Mechanical skills + Hydraulics + Pneumatics + Strong electrical maintenance abilities with high-level troubleshooting skills **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in electrical maintenance **Why Work Here?** Join a union plant with great pay and incredible tenure, where the average employee has been with us for over 20 years.
