Job Description Summary

               

As the Electrical Leader, you work under the direction of the Electrical Supervisor, accomplishing the assigned repair and maintenance functions in an orderly and timely manner through various subordinate personnel. You also work under the direction of the Shift Manager during non-business hours or when the appropriate Department Personnel are not present.

You have leadership skills and are able to accomplish assigned functions and tasks through subordinates. You are able to maintain a working relationship with the plant leadership team and be prepared to fill-in with the responsibilities of the Electrical Supervisor in their absence. You set the example of quality and workmanship that is expected by Lamb Weston.

You support operations by maintaining electrical systems, installing and setting up equipment, read, update and understand prints and schematics. You repair and maintain machinery and equipment such as, but not limited to, electrical motors, motor control centers, metal detectors, automatic defect removal equipment, optical sorting equipment, and production machines and equipment by performing all required duties.

You will be required to work any shift and/or any day of the week in accordance with production schedules.

As the Electrical Leader, you’ll…

Operate process equipment and perform duties as follows:

Assist the electrical supervisor to coordinate tasks, critiquing on-going and finished work, sets priorities and other responsibilities as authorized.Assist the electrical supervisor in repair and maintenance programs.Assist the engineering department in research and implementation of capital projects.Work with Lamb Weston's veLOCity team to come up with and implement logical solutions to electrical inefficiencies.Oversee installations and completion of electrical projects done by contractors and Lamb Weston electricians.Ensure quality of work and commissioning plant readiness upon project completion.Support management and employees' efforts to maximize plant TOEE and promote continuous improvement.Work with supervisory staff and safety committees to develop and implement safety improvements.Assist in ordering and researching electrical materials and supplies for R & M.Assist the supervisor in monitoring the lifecycle of equipment to ensure adequate replacements are available for repairs.Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code.Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of processing equipment as well as the ability to operate, overhaul, and repair said equipment.Perform maintenance work, repair, and adjustments of processing equipment.Change and replace electrical motors, motor control centers, metal detectors, automatic defect removal equipment, optical sorting equipment, etc.Maintain a clean work area.Maintain/Promote safe work practices at all times. Have complete knowledge and understanding of the plant safety rules including lockout-tag-out procedures.Understand and follow all plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).Demonstrate within 90 days of job assignment, ownership of proper tools for the job.Assist supervisors in the training of new electricians.Fill out, maintain, and sign all applicable documentation and administration forms for verification purposes.Satisfactorily complete the job criteria list and training program as outlined by the Electrical  Supervisor.Support your immediate supervisor by following directionsSupport company policies and proceduresMaintaining a positive work environmentAssist in coordinating training of subordinates as assigned by your supervisor.Bring forth intra-department issues to immediate Supervisor.Maintain confidentiality when assisting with either Intra-Department employee issues or Intra–Department issuesCommunicate with operators, sanitation leaders and supervisors to keep abreast of downtime maintenance activities and to keep abreast of production activities.Remove any foreign material found during transfers and notifies supervisor immediately if glass or metal is found.Maintain sanitation in the work area as neededClean shop area as determined necessary (using the designated cleaning equipment and supplies).Notify supervisors and sanitation leaders when repair work in the production area is completed.Other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Provincial Journeyman Electrician certificate from college or technical school.Candidates with at least 1 year of related work experience will be preferred.Experience working in a manufacturing environment is an asset
