Title: Electrical Lineman
Location: Independence, MO
Salary: Pay Ranges from $37.76-$41.43
Schedule: 4-10s M-TH 6:00AM-4:30PM
Focus: The Lineman is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing high-powered electrical lines, transformers, poles and systems that transmit and distribute electricity.
Electrical Lineman Essential Job Functions: Strings, sags and splices overhead lines using hot sticks, switch stick, shotgun and hot cutter. Climbs poles, works out of a bucket truck, and operates a digger-derrick truck as required to troubleshoot distribution systems and make needed repairs in a timely manner. Responding to emergencies, such as power outages. Reading and interpreting electrical wiring diagrams. Maintain proficiency in safety procedures. Electrical Lineman Minimum Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age Must meet one of the following education and experience requirements: HS Diploma/GED and 2 years recent and relevant Electrical Lineman experience; OR, Certificate or diploma from an accredited trade school, vocational school, or military equivalent. Journeyman Electrician certification preferred. Must have ability to read and interpret complex drawings, schematics and operational user manuals. Must have basic knowledge and demonstrated ability to follow the National Electric Code. Must be Proficient in using standard shop test equipment and capable of learning specialized test equipment. Must have knowledge of motors and motor controllers. Must be able to complete specific environmental training as required. Ability and willingness to work weekends, including overtime Must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain a government driver's license. Ability to infrequent lift up to 100 lbs. and frequent lifting up to 25 lbs.
