Electrical Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift - Tecumseh, NE

Job Details:

Pay: $23.85 - $33.20 (based on experience) plus $2.50 for attendance

The electrician is in charge of the design, testing, implementation, and controls of all new and existing electrical systems in the plant, water treatment area, and all external buildings; overseeing all electrical changes that take place on site and direct the maintenance associates involved.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and implement all electrical systems for new installationsMaintain all motor control centers ensuring that they are up to code in all areasMaintain camera systemDesign, implement, maintain, and upgrade all PLC systems and develop automation planInstall conduit and run wire for all new and old work in accordance with NECPlan all lighting changes and follow through to completionEnsure that all external electrical lighting and outlets are operationalInspect grounding system for the plant on an annual basisWork within safety guidelines at all times

QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensed Journeyman Electrician preferredExcellent attention to detailWilling to work overtime as requiredExcellent time management skillsSelf-starter with innovative ideas and excellent follow throughProven leadership abilityAble to learn new processes with minimal supervisionAbility to use hand tools and trades type toolsStrong mechanical background required.

Requirements:

Must have a minimum of 1-year of Facility Maintenance and/or Automotive Mechanic experience documented in the work history section of the application or a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program. (Can be a combination of education and employment as long as experience is at least 1 year).  

Physical Requirements / Environment: 

Stand/Walk: Continuously throughout shiftLift/Carry:  Frequently (1-10 lbs), Occasionally as required with assistance (up to 35-50 lbs.)Other Physical Requirements:Frequently; bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder (2-3 ft.), crouch, kneel, push/pull, graspEnvironment: working around moving machinery, in areas with marked changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust and fumes, occasionally working at unprotected heights, around and amongst dead birds and a strong chicken odor, some tight or confined space areas

Rehiring Criteria: Applicant must not have worked for Tyson more than a total of 3 times prior. Applicants must also have completed at least 90 days since their last employment with Tyson.
