Electrical Maintenance Technician
**Electrical Maintenance Technician** **Job Description** As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will possess full proficiency in your assigned area and work under moderate supervision. Your primary role will involve maintaining and servicing mechanical equipment, machinery, and components, as well as performing skilled repairs of mechanical, electrical, and building systems and equipment. You will conduct periodic inspections to evaluate repair requests, identify parts needed for replacement, and place orders as necessary. All work must be completed in accordance with established safety procedures. You may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in your area of specialty. This position typically reports to a supervisor or manager. **Responsibilities** + Perform preventive maintenance duties and make repairs and modifications to production equipment in line with cGMP. + Respond in a timely manner to demand maintenance calls, troubleshoot existing systems and installations. + Assist with maintaining detailed maintenance records and parts inventory through effective use of company CMMS. + Constantly improve skill level in production maintenance to keep up with advances in technology and automation in the production processes. + Make repairs or modifications to production equipment utilizing skills such as reading pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical schematics, and using basic electronic test equipment. + Assist with installation checkout, and start-up of new or modified plant production equipment. + Order maintenance machine parts, track, and turn in repair parts. + Assist Maintenance Supervisor or Manager with facts and details for formal investigations. + Upload and download PLC programs. + Record all downtime on the appropriate form for reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. + Train other mechanics as requested, must be a qualified fellow employee (QFE). + Maintain plant tools and toolboxes in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). + Adhere to cGMP guidelines, SOPs, and plant policies/rules. + Recognize problem trends and propose solutions, and effectively communicate in both verbal and written form the nature of the problem and proposed resolutions. **Essential Skills** + Electrical maintenance + Mechanical maintenance + Hydraulics + Pneumatics + PLC troubleshooting + Industrial maintenance + Ability to read pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical schematics + Use of basic electronic test equipment (volt/ohm and amp meter) **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Must be at least 18 years of age + High School diploma required + 2-4 years of experience with industrial mechanical, electrical, or similar systems + Alternatively, a certification or degree in a technical area pertinent to maintenance from an accredited College/University will be acceptable in lieu of 2 years previous experience + Well-rounded electro-mechanical skills and basic programming knowledge + Ability to use tools such as voltage and amperage meters, oscilloscope, megger, hand tools, measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers, and PLCs and associated software + Proficiency in Outlook mail (Excel and Microsoft Word preferred) + Ability to work overtime as needed (including weekends), adjust schedule quickly, and be willing to be called in to meet operational demands to minimize downtime + Must maintain and provide company with current working phone number + May be required to become a Qualified Fellow Employee (QFE) and/or instruct other employees as needed + Must be able to pass GMP and area certifications **Why Work Here?** This company is a well-known and stable organization in Austin, supporting healthcare and medical device industries. Additionally, there is a potential sign-on bonus for candidates willing to relocate to Austin. **Work Environment** All openings are on the same night shift schedule with a 3-2-2-3 rotating schedule from 6:00pm to 6:00am, working every other weekend. The role will average 42 hours per week with potential for a small amount of overtime. The work environment ranges from clean rooms with proper gowning requirements to production areas that are open, potentially noisy, and with moving equipment. Candidates must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. unassisted and move equipment/parts up to 600 lbs. assisted. Travel typically requires less than 5% of the time. **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Austin, Texas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $76876.80 - $86486.40 Full comprehensive benefits.
