Leidos is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Assembly Section Manager to join our Electrical Manufacturing team that supports production of Electrical/Mechanical Assemblies in Huntsville, Alabama. 

Candidate will be responsible for leadership of a technician team that test and builds electrical/mechanical assemblies.  The type of assemblies varies in complexity and require various testing and subassembly processes.  Processes require reading drawings and assembly to drawing standards and processes.  This position will lead the team of IPC-620 certified technicians that work on a variety of products to include military and space customers

Primary Responsibilities

This position will have day to day management responsibilities for Safety, Quality Delivery, Cost and Moral goals of electrical/mechanical assembly operations.  Candidate will work with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and technicians to develop a build strategy and identify any problems that could occur during assembly.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Applicants must have strong experience working with teams.

Experience leading a team as direct manager or team lead.

Ability to multi-task and meet multiple objectives over similar time periods.

Candidates will be required to have knowledge of the tools used for assembly and the proper techniques required to use these tools.  Basic experience reading electrical/mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing documentation will be required.

Candidate will be required to have basic computer skills associated with these assembly tasks (such as retrieving the manufacturing documentation from PLM system, updating MES systems as router steps are completed, communication via email, Excel spreadsheets, etc.).

Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience providing cost and schedule inputs for electrical/mechanical assembly build quotes.

Communicate with customers to provide updates on both cost and schedule.

Deltek Costpoint software experience.

Solumina software experience.

ESD procedures.

Current or prior certification to IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001 (space addendum a plus).

Pay Range:Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
