Electrical Mechanical Technician
**Overview** The Facility Electrical Mechanical Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems in the facility. This role includes troubleshooting and repairing various types of electrical and mechanical equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. **Pay: $28.00-$37.00/hr DOE** The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on the applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. **401(k)** – You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You become eligible for the ABM match beginning the first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions, dollar for dollar, for the first 3%. For information about ABM’s benefits, visit ABM 2024 Employee Benefits | Front Line Team Members (https://www.abm.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/2024-Recruitment-Frontline-11.6.23.pdf) **Key Responsibilities:** + Electrical Maintenance: Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment, including wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, switches, and control systems. + Mechanical Maintenance: Repair and maintain mechanical systems such as HVAC units, boilers, pumps, conveyors, compressors, and other facility equipment. + Preventive Maintenance: Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the long-term reliability of equipment and minimize unplanned downtime. + Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using blueprints, wiring diagrams, and testing devices such as multimeters, ammeters, and oscilloscopes. + System Upgrades: Assist in the installation, commissioning, and upgrading of facility equipment to meet operational needs. + Safety Compliance: Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities comply with OSHA and other regulatory standards. + Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and inspections. + Collaborate: Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and facility managers to coordinate tasks and resolve technical issues. + Emergency Response: Be available for on-call support to respond to equipment failures and other urgent maintenance needs. **Qualifications:** + Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical school training or certification in electrical or mechanical maintenance preferred. + Experience: 3+ years of experience in a facility maintenance role, with a focus on electrical and mechanical systems. + Licenses/Certifications: Licensed as an Electrician or other relevant technical certifications (e.g., HVAC, PLC programming) preferred. **Skills:** + Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems. + Ability to read blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics. + Proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment. + Understanding of electrical and mechanical safety procedures. **Working Environment:** + Work in a manufacturing or industrial facility, often in areas with elevated temperatures, noise, or other environmental factors. + Frequent standing, walking, and climbing ladders or stairs to access equipment. + Must be able to lift heavy objects, operate machinery, and work in confined spaces. + Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical systems, and hazardous materials; appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
