Job Description
Supporting heavy maintenance of commercial aircraft for airline customers, to ensure safe operations of aircraft electronics in-flight. Working in the Component Shop area of this large MRO facility. The repair technician will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, reassembling, testing, certifying, and documenting various types of aircraft avionics equipment and related systems such as lights, wire harnesses, electro-mechanical actuators, window heat controls, and other systems for aircraft interiors.
ResponsibilitiesBench testing of aircraft window heat control units, running diagnostics on test benches, referring to manuals for specifics, repairing by removing/replacing wires or basic circuit boards, soldering new connections, testing, and documenting for recertification.Set up and operate precision test equipment for alignment, troubleshooting, and testing of electronic equipment and systems.Use Oracle-based computer software to view and log tasks, materials, and status/condition updates.Use standard test equipment, including oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.Align and adjust advanced electrical components on units being tested to ensure proper functioning of electrical circuits, utilizing established test procedures.Analyze circuitry and physically check wiring and operation of various electronic parts, units, and system components to locate malfunction causes found during testing.Perform electrical/mechanical repair operations consisting of disassembly and assembly of units, determining requirements, and installing modifications as set forth by Service Bulletin or other authorized documentation.Build up wire harnesses starting from spools, following assembly directions, attaching connectors, and installing in newly repaired units.Essential Skills4+ years of recent avionics or complex electronics repair experience, including testing.Experience with blueprints and mechanical/electronics systems.Ability to use standard test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.Experience using computer software daily for task tracking, repair status/completion, and quality.Must be eligible for FAA Drug and Alcohol safety-sensitive hire.Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years of recent electro-mechanical assembly or repair experience using test benches.Airframe or A&P license required.Ability to look at diagrams and tool lists, and select appropriate tools.Ideal candidates may have experience as an I-level Avionics technician from the Navy or an Army Avionics Survivability Equipment Repair technician from the Army.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Large MRO facility, components division building. Clean shop setting with various sections for different aircraft system types. Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Friday with Saturday work possible. Work hours are 0600 - 1630, with occasional overtime on Fridays. The first week will consist of ATS and customer-specific training on the day shift, between 24 and 40 hours. Currently, the shop operates only on the day shift, but as the program ramps up, a shift from 1530 - 0200 may be added in early 2025.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00
