Electrical Panel Shop Technician | Competitive Wages - DOE 

Monday-Friday, Day Shift

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Panel Shop Technician to play a crucial role in the assembly and troubleshooting of high-performance electrical panels for an established manufacturing company located in Algona,IA. Responsibilities:

Read and interpret electrical schematics, sub-panel layout drawings, and other instructions to assemble electrical panels accurately and efficiently Wire electrical panels according to established wiring standards, troubleshoot issues, and debug as necessary to ensure proper functionality Power and wire electrical panels as required, ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry regulations Test electrical panels for functionality and performance, ensuring all systems are working according to specifications before shipment Work closely with engineers and other technicians to ensure proper assembly and to resolve technical challenges during the manufacturing process Ensure all electrical panels meet UL standards and other relevant safety and quality regulations Maintain accurate records of panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and testing results. Ensure documentation is up-to-date for future reference or audits Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance the assembly process, reduce errors, and improve efficiency in panel assembly operations

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED); formal training or certification in electrical systems is a plus. 2+ years of electrical experience Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical panel layout. Proficient in wiring, powering, debugging, and troubleshooting electrical panels. Hands-on experience with tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, multimeters, and soldering equipment. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLC), including wiring and troubleshooting Understanding of UL standards and certification processes as it relates to electrical panels Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform tasks with high accuracy and precision Knowledge of industry-specific electrical systems used in food processing machinery is a plus Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to electrical components and machinery
