Roles and Responsibilities
As the Electrical Power System Test Evaluation Engineer, you will:
Actively prepare for, participate in, and document results of power systems testing on site at the GE Aerospace EPISCenter in Dayton, OHCoordinate test vehicle instrumentation, assembly, and test execution with specialists Coordinate test requests with the vehicle systems and design engineering teamProvide clear, timely communication of test preparation status, test outcomes, and team needs to facilitate continued test execution Capture lessons learned and best practices to aid in continuous improvement of test execution activitiesDefine and formalize system, test, hardware, software, and human integration requirementsApply and define GE best practices in the operationalization of hybrid electric testingSupport test integration in a diversity of system integration environments – from local desktop computer simulations to fully representative flight testsPresent results to internal (GE) and external (customer, agency, government, …) customersCollaborate effectively in a diverse, global, distributed work environmentAdditionally, you will responsible to continually mature your personal and professional development through training opportunities, mentorship, and formal career path definition.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university with 3 years experience in an Engineering and/or Test roleDesired Characteristics
Highly-motivated, self-starting, and passionateDemonstrated team leadership, collaboration, and facilitation skillsExceptional communication skills and willingness to continually improve communication and influencing skills in more-distributed work environmentsExperience with project management tools – MS Project, Open Plan, etc.Familiarity with industrial manufacturing and assembly processes and proceduresExperience with test instrumentation – integration, application, and monitoringKnowledge of power electronics and energy storageKnowledge of thermodynamics and heat transfer Test system design or data system design experienceFlexible and friendly approach to working in teamsKeen listener and innate drive to succeedWillingness to support a distributed work location to best meet evolving program needs, balancing time across Evendale, OH; Dayton, OH; and remoteThis role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
