The Electrical Product Engineer (EPE) will partner closely with the Cisco Development organization, including HW Development Engineering, Compliance and Safety, the Program Management organization, and other extended partners within the Supply Chain Organization and the Contract Manufacturing partners located throughout the globe.
Our Product Engineers provide new products and ongoing engineering (including DFx) support for a specific product or group of products from pre-concept commit through end-of-life. They interface with design, process, test, and reliability engineering to tackle problems. They sustain products with cost reductions and design-related yield improvements.

Your Impact
The Enterprise Switching Product Operations team in Cisco's Supply Chain Organization is seeking an Electrical Product Engineer to reside in Austin, TX. This team supports the Enterprise Switch Business Unit, which is based in Austin, TX, and San Jose, California, USA. Our products contain innovative technologies that make them the best in the industry. The product platforms are Catalyst 2K, 3K, and 4K.
As an Electrical Product Engineer, you will provide new products and ongoing engineering support for a specific group of products from early conceptual designs through the end of life. You will interface and partner closely with Electrical Design Engineering, Hardware and compliance Engineering, extended partners within Supply Chain Operations, and Contract Manufacturing partners to lead the NPI and sustaining product support requirements. 
New Product Introduction responsibilities (NPI) involve influence and action related to the optimal Cost, Quality and Delivery of the products throughout the supply chain and customer environment. DfX is a primary focus area involving design for manufacturability, assembly, test, cost, quality, supply chain and customer use within the new product development process. 
Sustaining product engineering responsibilities are highly focused to Value Engineering and technical expertise to support action and issues found during the lifecycle of the product.

Minimum Qualifications: You should have a minimum of a BS in Electrical Engineering Experience as Electrical Engineer in Manufacturing capabilityKnowledge and expertise of all aspects of DFx, the systematic consideration of manufacturing issues in the design and development process, facilitating the fabrication of the product’s components and their assembly into a more reliable, manufacturable and serviceable product.Experience in printed circuit board (PCB) and (PCBA) manufacturingThe ability to work effectively in a diverse and cross-functional team environment. 
Preferred Qualifications:MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer EngineeringWorking knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems used for Networking EquipmentKnowledge of the commodities used in the electrical systems of Cisco productsYou must possess strong communication and influence skills while working in a very collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
