Electrical Project Engineer



Salary starting from: £37,000 
Location: Based at Rochester, flexible working approach with 2-3 days in the office and the rest remote.

Siemens Energy Services in Rochester are growing. And we're looking for project engineers to come with us on this journey for growth, to tackle our exciting new projects and champion project engineering activities within the High accuracy metering and system monitoring Portfolio. 
You will take projects through conception, design, build, mechanical and functional testing, delivery and onsite commissioning and integration and finally acceptance of final handover with the end client.  
 
You'll make a difference by:
Produce and manage Design and Change Management of new metering systems CoP1, CoP2 and associated Grid system monitoring bespoke systems/solutions (CoP3 upwards). Perform FAT, FIT and SIT procedures coupled with successful completion of customer witness testing requirements. Identify and manage project risk and put control in place to mitigate with Project Managers. Support and assist the management team to monitor the progress of works and ensure that the development, design construction, testing and financial targets are met and effective remedial action is produced where required. Ensure that the technical standards are maintained in all aspects of project work, in order that safe for successful project implementation. Lead and monitor the planning and progress of works in conjunction with Project Managers in relation to timeline and budget and ensure that the development, design, construction and testing requirements are met. Act as the Project Engineering Manager on a large project or on a number of medium-sized projects Apply internal PM@Siemens framework for successful delivery of projects Lead and deliver on-site installation and commissioning works at customers premises 

Your defining qualities/skills:
Must haves: 
HNC/Degree level qualification in electrical/electronics engineering. Good technical understanding and appreciation of Elexon COP1 & COP2 solution requirements including grid system monitoring requirements Ability to use AutoCAD (or similar) fluently and IT packages such as Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Visio, MS Projects etc.), SAP Concur etc. A basic understanding of network and communication systems UK Full driving licence  Live within an easily commutable distance from Rochester 
Desirable: 
Experience in SCADA and Control systems, Communication protocols  Knowledge of electrical and project safety requirements An understanding of contract conditions and how to manage them You are resilient to setbacks and committed to achieving project goals in adversity You can interpret project partner agendas and objectives, and integrate these to the improvement of the project Experience with communication protocols such as IEC 104 (Modbus), MQTT, IEC61850, DNP3, DLMS  Experience in Ethernet connections, programming of switches & routers, SCADA integration and interface with other communications systems
