Electrical Project Engineer

The Electrical Project Engineer’s responsibility includes planning, organizing, developing, and executing capital engineering projects within constraints of specific project scope and target schedule. The successful candidate will need experience in project management with technical skills to coordinate a variety of disciplines within the Engineering Department, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering Firms, Vendors and Contractors. The position also requires supporting and managing tasks associated with Management of Change projects for maintenance and operations.  


How you will impact WestRock:


Perform and or manage all Front-End Planning and Detailed Design engineering for approved capital projects with the objective of meeting technical, cost, schedule, and safety goalsExecute aspects of project procurement and vendor/contractor managementOutlines project requirements and provide technical assistance on capital projects from design through completion and commissioningInspect completed installations and ensure that all projects are installed per applicable regulatory codes (OSHA, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, etc.)Comply with corporate project standards and reporting timelinesCoordinate outside resources to assist with operational improvements


What you need to succeed: 


Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology. 5+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing with Pulp & Paper experience preferred but not requiredProject management experience, PMP Certification a plus but not requiredExcellent trouble shooting skills with a demonstrated continuous improvement mindsetStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills such as building close working relationships and minimizing conflicts through collaboration and consensus buildingJDE Experience PreferredDrafting and CAD (AutoCAD) training/experienceExperience in four or more of the following areas:

o   Power distribution systems

o   Process instrumentation systems

o   Process Design

o   Distributed control systems

o   Programmable logic controllers

o   Coordinated drive systems

o   Variable speed AC and DC drives

o   Low and medium voltage motor control centers

Support safety and environmental compliance.Knowledge of short circuit, arc flash and load calculationsFamiliarity with EasyPower or ETAP
