Job Description
The Project Engineer is responsible for assisting in daily engineering support for the project, Project Managers, Estimators, and General Foremen. The Project Engineer collaborates with contractors and clients to ensure the work is completed on time, within budget, and meets safety and quality standards. They also handle technical specifications, troubleshoot any issues that arise, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and codes. Their role may involve project planning, coordination of resources, and ensuring proper documentation through the project’s lifecycle.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure jobsite safety is a priority; conduct site safety audits.Receive, review, and submit all shop drawings.Track project submittals.Build construction project schedules.Track and maintain installed quantities.Assist in maintaining accurate cost reports and tracking.Assist in estimating functions.Develop Request for Information (RFI).Develop relationships and communicate with customers.Assist field team with questions on design and customer requirements.Ensure team adheres to contract requirements.Assume additional tasks assigned by management or which are logically inherent to this position.Required SkillsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or other Engineering, or equivalent field experience.Firm understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.Proficient with Microsoft Project, Revit, and/or AutoCAD.1-2 years of experience in Project Engineering, specifically in the Electrical sector (Co-Ops and Internships count!)Work Environment
The role is primarily onsite at a facility under construction. The environment requires adherence to safety protocols and may involve working in various weather conditions. The dress code is typically construction site appropriate.
