Electrical Project Engineer (entry-level)

Job Title:  Electrical Project Engineer

Job Summary:  Forest Electric NY seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to assist in 3D AutoCAD coordination. The candidate must be able to analyze and develop shop drawings for field installation based on designed contract documents and the New York City Electrical Code.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Become competent in developing overhead conduit racks (power and communication) and Power Distribution Risers from contract documents. Value engineering. Become competent in developing power and lighting circuitry shop drawings, and Fire Alarm Systems shop drawings. Collaborate with field and team members to ensure project objectives are met. Perform 3D coordination and collision detection (BIM) at job site using Navisworks. Become competent in Electrical Load Calculations. Prepare and maintain project documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports. Field survey construction sites before and during construction phases as required. Communicate with field personnel on installation shop drawings. Attend on-site and virtual coordination meetings with General Contractor and other trades. Regularly commute to field locations as required. Regular, predictable, and reliable on-site attendance is an essential function of the job.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A degree in electrical engineering Strong technical and analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and NavisWorks. Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment. Experience with Revit is a plus. Direct experience with Microsoft Office Applications.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Project sites are OSHA complaint projects and all team members are required to wear appropriate PPE.  PPE equipment and supplies will be provided by the Company to the employee.  OSHA training shall apply.
