Job Description
We are seeking an Electrical Project Manager to oversee a larger volume of complex projects with broader scope and strategic direction. The ideal candidate will align projects with organizational and executive objectives, driving improved operational and financial goals.
Responsibilities
+ Manage a portfolio of complex projects within multiple sectors spanning one or multiple lines of business.
+ Provide on-site leadership for project teams by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to responsibilities and project milestones.
+ Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
+ Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test, and deployment management activities.
+ Demonstrate strong knowledge in construction cost to complete and project financial projections.
+ Accurately project project costs broken down by phase code relating to materials and remaining labor hours.
+ Identify areas of scope creep to mitigate risk and assemble design errors and project change orders, communicating these to the project team.
+ Successfully sell project change orders and increase margins.
+ Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
+ Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature organizational capabilities.
+ Prepare estimates and detailed project plans for all phases of the project.
+ Coordinate with general super and foreman to accurately review revised project labor hours and set expectations for completion within these targets.
+ Procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives within planned timeframes.
+ Manage day-to-day project activities and resources, communicating additional requirements and impacts with the Vice President of Construction.
+ Monitor staff performance and complete performance reviews.
+ Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues, communicating across leadership.
+ Follow detailed processes for project execution while working with the Vice President to continually analyze adherence to these processes.
+ Demonstrate a functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with code requirements.
+ Act as an internal quality control check for the project.
+ Manage ongoing quality control and participate in quality issue resolution.
+ Assist in dispute, negotiation, arbitration, or litigation as needed.
+ Support formal/informal schedules to manage the engagement contract.
+ Understand project specifications for installation and ensure project team understands the requirements.
+ Develop and manage all aspects of the project from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks, and issues.
+ Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
+ Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
+ Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise the project and program team.
+ Deliver appropriate and effective executive-level communication.
+ Ensure that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
+ Proven success in providing on-site leadership for project teams by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to responsibilities and project milestones.
+ Speak factually on current issues and focus on facts versus personal opinion.
+ Conduct research into project-related issues and products.
+ Learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
+ Support a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Essential Skills
+ 7+ years of experience in the electrical construction industry, preferably in a project management role.
+ 5+ years of experience with full product lifecycle and an understanding of development lifecycle and various technology methodologies.
+ Maintains journeyman or master electrical license(s).
+ Strong leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills.
+ Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
+ Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal, and presentation), and interpersonal skills.
+ Self-motivated and decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
+ Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project Sight, Procore, Blue Beam.
+ Experience negotiating with vendors and subcontractors.
+ Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary.
+ Experience in successfully leading projects and programs to on-time, on-schedule, and within budget.
+ Experience leading, motivating, and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources.
+ Strong presentation and communication skills; both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management.
+ Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from executives, team members, stakeholders, and peers.
+ Team-building skills with technical and non-technical staff.
+ Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
+ Flexibility and proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ E1/E2 electrical license preferred.
+ Experience with Accubid, BlueBeam, Procore.
+ Experience with change orders, budgeting, scheduling, RFIs, submittals, take-offs, and buyouts.
+ Project management skills.
+ Experience in commercial, healthcare, and multifamily project types.
+ Experience in projects ranging from $1k to $16M.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, in-office position with work primarily located in Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford, and Litchfield counties. The role involves managing various project types, including commercial, healthcare, and multifamily projects. The work environment is collaborative and requires effective communication with team members, stakeholders, and executives. The dress code is professional business attire.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/hr.
