Job Title: Reliability Engineer – Electrical (Power Distribution)
Location: Augusta, GA

Pay: $120-160k
Status of Hire: direct, permanent
We are seeking a Reliability Engineer (Electrical - Power Distribution) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overall plant electrical system and motor reliability including maintaining the plant electrical power distribution systems and ensuring electrical safe work practice compliance. Daily tasks will include overseeing the health of the electrical power distribution system, diagnosing, and troubleshooting issues, implementing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies. Additionally, you will be involved in the commissioning of a new facility and train team members on system operations.
This position requires the ability to travel internationally for training purposes. The ideal candidate will be open to immersing themselves in different cultures and working collaboratively with teams from around the world to gain a comprehensive understanding of our business and industry. This training can last between 2-6 weeks
Your Tasks Oversee and ensure the safe reliable operation of the electrical power distribution (EPD) system. Establish and oversee Electrical power distribution Preventive and Predictive maintenance strategies Oversee and ensure the safe reliable operation of plant motors and generators. Establish and oversee electric motor Preventive and Predictive maintenance strategies Develop and maintain site Electrical Safe Work Practices (ESWP) program Establish and oversee Electrical power distribution Preventive and Predictive maintenance strategies Hands on troubleshooting support of motor and EPD issues. Establish and oversee implementation EPD and Motor reliability continuous improvement plan Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to improve electrical power distribution and motor reliability Troubleshooting and Maintenance: responsible for diagnosing and rectifying operational issues, which can involve on the spot troubleshooting Supporting in Commissioning activities such as EPD breaker actuation and motor rotation checks Project Management: lead smaller EPD / motor improvement projects, from conceptualization to implementation, manage timelines, budgets and resources to meet project objectives Coordinate with vendors and contractors for the procurement and installation of new equipment Process Optimization: analyze current operations to identify opportunities for improvement, increase efficiency, reduce waste and enhancing product quality Compliance and Safety: ensure all control systems and processes comply with the relevant industry standards and regulations Create and maintain documentation related to EPD/Motor processes and systems Train and mentor other team members on EPD / Motor and related safe work practices In time, this position could evolve into a leadership role, overseeing a team of process technicians and guiding them through their daily responsibilities
Your Profile Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field 5-7 years of experience in industrial Electrical Power Distribution and Motor reliability Experience with Siemens Low voltage, medium Voltage power distribution equipment Experience with Siemens SEM3 and Breaker control software Experience in Paper, cement, metal, chemical, or mining industries Familiarity with Electrical Power Distribution PM and PdM technologies Familiarity with NEC and NFPA 70E as it relates industrial plant Electrical Safe work practices Experience with EPD system coordination studies Experience with motor reliability best practices, Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes. Must exhibit exemplary communication skills. Must exhibit a leader-coach mentality and act as a change agent with a team-oriented focus. Effectively communicate targets and goals to his/her team. Gives and takes constructive feedback. Proven problem-solving skills and high level of independence (in planning, organization, execution and control). The ability to act decisively and solve staff or equipment related problems. Organizational skills to be able to oversee the entire production process. Mindset of challenging and embracing change. Ability to keep a cool head even in stressful situations. Comfortable “pivoting” quickly in a fast-paced environment. Experience working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. Able to successfully juggle multiple priorities. Demonstrated ability as an outstanding team player and a successful independent worker. Must be willing and physically able to walk/work in, observe and spend time in a hot environment. Must be willing and physically able to work in intense heat situations. Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, climbing, balancing, crouching and kneeling. May have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, in meetings or presenting and training. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct audits and/or walk-throughs. Must wear all required PPE when in protected areas. Required to reach and grasp with hands and reach with arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to respond to any safety incident quickly and effectively and/or accident including First Responder duties. Willing and physically able to travel domestically and/or internationally, if requested. This is an extensively physical role
