Electrical Ship Designer
Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Designer to create drawings and conduct ship inspections. The Designer will specialize in either piping or electrical design for the habitability section of Navy Ships, depending on their background and expertise. The productivity expectations for this role are determined by project deadlines and product tracking reports. This role operates with moderate autonomy and requires a motivated, hardworking individual. Travel is intermittent, averaging 20% of the time. The typical schedule, when not traveling, is in-office from Monday to Wednesday, with the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday. This is a 40-hour work week, unless traveling. Working hours are negotiable, provided they fall between the hours of 5AM and 5PM. Skills and Requirements - Ability to attain a Secret Clearance, or currently have an active one - Proficiency in AutoCAD - 5+ years of shipboard design experience (Maritime / Navy) in one of the following disciplines, listed in order of preference: Piping Electrical - Experience in ship checking - Familiarity with NAVSEA drawings -Ability to travel 20% of the time - Experience in Habitability Design and Inspections - Experience in any of the following systems: Autodesk Inventor, CAD Automation and Customization, VBA, Autoslip null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
