Amentum
**Purpose and Scope:**
Responsible for an asset lifecycle management portfolio containing all Air Force-owned electrical power production and electrical systems on the installation up to points of demarcation or five feet, or up to and including the secondary tap of distribution transformers. This position is in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is located at Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF).
**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Provides facility industrial control systems inputs to the Facilities AMP manager.
+ advises and assists with the development of the Future Years Defense Program +3 infrastructure plans.
+ Performs design work for new construction, renovations and improvement projects for real property facilities.
+ Interprets and adapts traditional methods and approaches in developing design calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications that support project objectives and standards.
+ Responsible for selected construction inspections, quality control and submittal reviews beyond the expertise of construction managers.
+ Develops cost estimates and time schedules, Reviews and analyzes preliminary and final designs, plans and specifications for technical efficiency and adequacy.
+ Prepares necessary correspondence, technical reports, contract documents, fact sheets and status report and prepares final construction drawings suitable for obtaining qualified bids from Contractors.
+ Monitors and/or manages projects for new construction, renovations and improvements to real property facilities, utilizing a professional knowledge of engineering.
+ Responsible for the correct and efficient execution of assigned work involving the installation, removal, inspection, maintenance and repair of all electrical systems, distribution systems and fixtures.
+ Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the assembly, installation and repair of electrical cables, systems power distribution systems, distribution panels, inspections, etc.
+ Secures the cooperation of other crafts/trades supervisors and to instill within the assigned electrical staff the cooperative attitude necessary for working closely with other maintenance trade workers.
+ Complies with health, safety and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
**Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:**
+ Must be an Engineer Technician with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in their field of expertise.
+ Prior R&O experience is preferred.
+ High school diploma or equivalent training & experience.
+ Preference will be given to individuals who have worked on US Government and Military domestic and international projects.
+ Experience in the use of documents relating to the development of projects, contracting, and construction is necessary.
+ Capable of complete design services including electric power distribution networks, power load determination, exterior electric, interior electric, and site lighting.
+ Working knowledge of Design Review, Project Mobilization, Quality Compliance, QA, Safety, Project Controls.
+ Proficient in AutoCAD 2009 or later and use AutoCAD to create presentable and accurate facility and infrastructure plans for concept and statement of work requirements for project execution.
+ Excellent communications, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
+ Capable of complete design services including electric power distribution networks, power load determination, exterior electric, interior electric, and site lighting.
+ Computer literate; can use Microsoft Office and Project, etc.
+ Ability to read and write English is required.
+ Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.
+ Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
+ Candidate is required to be a USN to fill this position.
+ Possess a valid state issued driver’s license and passport.
+ Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
+ Prior overseas government contracting experience preferred.
**Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:**
+ Able to stand for long periods of time such as eight (8) to ten (10) hours, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies.
+ Able to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds.
+ The Electrical Sub-Amp shall be located at Ascension Island.
+ Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
+ Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
+ Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
+ Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
