We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to work on airport projects with a focus on airport baggage handling and material handling systems. This role requires extensive travel, up to 40% of the time during the first year, with potential for increased travel thereafter. The position involves night shifts or early morning to mid-afternoon shifts. The project is slated to start in January 2025 and will run through 2026, with an anticipated extension through 2029.
ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage electrical installations for airport baggage handling and material handling systems.Ensure quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) for electrical systems.Interpret and read installation drawings, blueprints, project scopes, and electrical schematics.Manage and communicate with vendors effectively.Ensure compliance with project schedules and deliverables.Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.Essential Skills10-15 years of experience in Electrical QA/QC within airport baggage handling systems or material handling systems.Proficiency with electrical systems including PLCs, barcodes, conveyor systems, and material handling systems.Ability to read and interpret installation drawings, blueprints, project scopes, and electrical schematics.Experience with barcode and vision systems, conveyor systems, mechanical drawings, and vendor management.Knowledge of PLCs, specifically Allen-Bradley and Siemens.Additional Skills & QualificationsA degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is highly desirable.Previous experience working in an airport environment is preferable.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Effective vendor management and communication skills.Work Environment
The position will be based onsite at the Atlanta airport for the first year. The role involves up to 40% travel during the first year, with the possibility of increased travel thereafter. Per diem and hotel accommodations will be provided when traveling, along with mileage reimbursement.
