CE Facility Support Engineer - Electrical 3
Location: Onsite – Hoffman Estates, IL 60192
Pay Rate: $35/hr. - $42/hr.
Duration: 6 – 18 Months
Day Shift A: 12-hour shifts (Sun-Wed) & (Sun-Tue)
We are seeking a CE Facility Support Engineer - Electrical 3 - to support electrical infrastructures across a data center campus. This role involves working with building management systems (EPMS) and performing various electrical operations, including Remote Power Panel (RPP) shutdowns, Power Distribution Unit (PDU) maintenance, and Power Interruption Testing (PIT). Candidates with previous data center experience and a fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform all tasks listed in the CE Tech Level 1 and Level 2 role descriptions
• Support electrical infrastructures across large-capacity facilities and smaller data center sites
• Conduct Remote Power Panel (RPP) shutdowns (1 source) while maintaining critical load supply (N)
• Perform PDU shutdowns for power meter replacements
• Execute Power Interruption Testing (PIT)
• Conduct master controller shutdowns or replacements
• Work with Building Management Systems (EPMS) for electrical monitoring and troubleshooting
Required Qualifications:
• OSHA or OSHA-approved NFPA 70E Certification
• 5+ years of experience in electrical systems within high-availability environments such as data centers, oil & gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceuticals, or manufacturing
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Flexible work schedule availability (including 12-hour shifts, rotating shifts, and varied workweeks)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) certification
• Previous experience in data center operations
• Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
