International has an exciting new opportunity for an Electrical Systems and Components Electrical Test Technician to join our Electrical Systems and Components Test team at our Advanced Technology Center in Elmendorf, TX! The EES Electrical Test Technician will encompass test engineer support, test setup/tear down, vehicle shakedowns, wire harness repair, and aid additional Electrical Test Technician. The Electrical Test Tech will provide technical support to the Electrical System and Components test team. Duties will be performed on International diesel/electric vehicles which includes vehicles with autonomous driver assist systems. Expectation is 85% of time spent hands on with vehicle in shop environment and 15% completing paperwork in office environment. Flex time is conditional base upon program requirements.
The International Elmendorf Advanced Technology Center (ATC) is a Research and Development Facility as well as a support center for the San Antonio Manufacturing Plant that builds leading-edge commercial vehicles. The Electrical Systems and Components Test team performs validation of the electrical and electronic systems of commercial trucks and school buses.
ResponsibilitiesTest Preparation/Execution:
Execute test based on supplied test procedure/requestor supplied procedure, store results and test report in the WRTS system.Write a work request for mechanical support in Maintenance Connect (MC) data base.Update electrical support in Build Operations Database as required per test.Create test harnesses and instrument as needed for vehicle for testing.Troubleshoot and repair wiring harness defects.Expected travel to accomplish off site testing/support at remote test locations.Test Reporting:
Report any test failures or anomalies found during testing within 24 hours.Submit any failure or concern to the appropriate Engineer using CAN analyzer.Update WRTS status within 24 hours of completing validation tests.Complete test report within 30 days of test completion date.
Deliverables:
Prepare a test reports document and issue reports.Issue Pyxis within 24 hours of issue identification.Update WRTS tickets. Minimum Requirements Associate’s degreeAt least 3 years of experience supporting engineering activities and/or automotive or diesel mechanic experienceOR
At least 5 years of experience supporting engineering activities and/or automotive or diesel mechanic experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. International Motors does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status) Desired Skills Must be able to safely setup and lift vehicles using ARI-Hetra Mobile Lift Column Lifts.Must be able to use industry standard mechanic tools such as impacts, torque wrenches, power probes, soldering iron, electrical crimping/depinning tools. (Required to pull door panels, seats, headliners, etc....)CDL license to drive school bus and heavy truck would be most helpful.ASE Certifications would be helpful.Experience in a testing environment to include Cold/Hot chamber, dyno, and wind tunnel.Use the Cummins InSite/Cal-Term tools to read, store, and write ECM and ACM calibrations.Use the Allison service tools to read, store, and write TCM calibrations.Knowledge of Safety Protocols for Electric Work.Highly Preferred:
